Stephen R. Nieto, President/Owner

Steve Nieto received a Bachelors in Architecture from California State Polytechnic University Pomona and in 1985 he established SWC. With over 30 years of experience in design and construction, Steve brings invaluable experience to each of his projects. His work can be seen in the deserts most beautiful residential communities, which include Bighorn, Mirada Estates, and the Madison Club and many others. Steve has designed several commercial projects including Old Town La Quinta which is a shopping and dining destination and has become the hub of activities for the community.

Steve enjoys the design-build process and has a special interest in the construction and delivery of each designed project. As a licensed general contractor he brings a sense of reality to all his work and oversees all projects to ensure that they are delivered on time and on budget.

Stephen T. Nieto, Senior Designer

Stephen brings over 8 years of experience in large and small scale planning and urban design, having developed successful plans for waterfronts, downtown cores, mixed use and entertainment districts. Prior to joining SWC, Stephen received a Master's degree in Architecture & Urban Design from UCLA in 2009, in his professional career he has worked globally with award winning design firms Gensler and AECOM. 

Stephen's past projects have been influential in shaping communities around the world with a focus on sustainability and pedestrian oriented development. Past projects include LA River Revitalization Concept Plan, Orange Country Great Park Master Pan, Park 101 Freeway Cap Park and most recently was influential in winning the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic Bid.

Stephen is a Planning Commissioner for the City of La Quinta and is very active in his community.

 

 

Nick Nieto, Design & Real Estate Services

Nick has been with the firm since 2010, his work experience in building design and in real estate are invaluable. Nick graduated in 2008 from Cal State University Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in Business.  He has always had a passion for design and creative thinking which has allowed him to excel in the industry. In 2012 he received his California Real Estate License and has taken on the role as Real Estate adviser/facilitator for SWC. Nick also leads the firm’s marketing and social media presence.

 

Jerry Dohn, Architect

Jerry Dohn has been a CA Licensed Architect for over 27 years, Jerry studied Architecture at Los Angeles Pierce College and graduated in 1977. He has been trained by and has worked for the following Architects and Engineers over the years: Sheldon Brown, Architect. Richard B. Taylor, Architect. Gil Garcia, Architect. Leach & Kehoe Architects. Fisher & Wilde Architects. Roy Asaro, Architect. John Trittipo, Architect. Charles Mistretta, Mechanical Engineer. Ernest Mansi, Civil Engineer. Paul B. Singer, Civil Engineer. Jerry has been self-employed as an Architect in Ventura County since he received his License and moved to the Coachella Valley in 2009. He has worked on a broad variety of projects from new custom homes, commercial and industrial Buildings, tenant improvements, commercial banking projects, restaurants, schools, hotels, US Government projects, residential room additions and remodeling, Ventura County and City of Oxnard public works projects, and a variety of many other projects. Jerry is committed to providing the highest quality of architectural design and catering to the needs of the client and making sure their expectations are met in every way.

Jerry is also a decorated Vietnam Veteran and served proudly in the US Navy from 1970-1974.  He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans and The American Legion.
